NEWARK, Del. – Today, the Carper for Senate team announced the endorsement of the Delaware Democratic Party, which joins a growing number of organizations representing thousands of Delawareans across the state that are endorsing U.S. Senator Tom Carper for United States Senate in the 2018 election.
In addition to the Delaware Democratic Party, Tom has received endorsements in Delaware’s 2018 race for U.S. Senate from the Delaware AFL-CIO, Delaware Laborers, Delaware Education Association (DSEA), Delaware Stonewall PAC, Planned Parenthood Action Fund and National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) Action Fund.
“Clearly, our campaign is about more than just one candidate. It’s about every Delawarean,” Tom said. “I’ve put more than 480,000 miles on my Chrysler Town and Country minivan traveling up and down the state, meeting with Delawareans and listening to their concerns about the future of our state and country. Every day in Washington, I’m fighting so that every Delawarean has clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, the opportunity for a good-paying job, affordable health care, access to quality education, and a safe place to live and raise their family.”
“I believe that today – more than ever – we need strong and principled leadership in Washington to overcome steep partisan divisions and steer through our increasingly toxic political environment. Progress is always possible, and Delawareans know that I will never give up the fight for a better future for all of us in the First State,” Tom continued. “I’m so honored to have earned the endorsement of these organizations as we work together to achieve a victory for every Delawarean this November. Our work is just getting started.”
