October 22, 2018 – The Sierra Club PAC has announced its support for Sen. Tom Carper of Delaware for re-election, citing Sen. Carper’s demonstrated commitment to protecting America’s environment.
“The Sierra Club strongly supports Senator Carper and looks forward to working with him on a strong environmental agenda to improve Delaware’s air and water quality. We are thrilled that Senator Carper supports clean, renewable energy. This is critical for Delaware and the nation’s health and welfare,” said Sherri Evans-Stanton, Chapter Director for the Delaware Chapter of the Sierra Club.
“I am proud to have the Sierra Club’s endorsement and to continue working together to ensure all Delawareans have clean air to breathe and safe water to drink,” said Tom Carper. “Despite the dangerous rollbacks that the Trump Administration tries to pursue, I am fighting to make sure we enact and protect environmental policies based on science and that build on the progress we have made over the last decade to safeguard the one and only planet we all share. There is far more work to do, though, and we must continue to fight so we have a healthy environment for generations to come.”
The Sierra Club is committed to promoting clean energy solutions to move the nation beyond dirty fossil fuels like coal, oil and dangerous nuclear power, and towards a safe, clean energy future built on energy efficiency, clean energy, and American innovation. Since our founding in 1892, the Sierra Club has protected America ‘s wild places and wildlife. In addition, the Club works to protect public health and ensure safe and healthy communities that are free of toxic air and water pollution. The Sierra Club and its over 3.5 million members and supporters work to support candidates who share these values.
